The High Country Collection (Continued)
This summer, I spent much of my time in the Blue Ridge Mountains for my Edgewood Cottage Artist Residency and for three Blowing Rock Art in the Park events. My time spent there resulted in a plethora of reference photos, experiences, and memories to draw on for more new paintings celebrating the High Country.
Fourteen new works have been added to this summer’s ongoing series, “The High Country Collection,” including five new works that introduce mixed media to my work for the very first time:
The new “Mountain Gold Vein” works are created with acrylic paint, a translucent, metallic epoxy resin “gold vein,” and buffed epoxy resin on wood panel. The three “Rhododendron Halo” works are created with acrylic paint, gold leaf, and a high gloss epoxy resin top coat.
