A/perture Cinema's "Cinema Beyond the Screen" Exhibition
I’m honored to have one of my paintings displayed alongside 18 talented local artists for a/perture cinema’s “Cinema Beyond the Screen” exhibition. At 24” x 30”, this painting, “Barks Office Hit” is my largest pet portrait yet!
All work at the exhibition will be auctioned off to benefit the locally owned nonprofit treasure, a/perture cinema - an indie, foreign, and documentary cinema that celebrates art through film. This exhibition of local art will be displayed at the Milton Rhodes Center for Arts in Winston Salem from March 28th - April 28th. Come join us for the Artist Reception on Friday, April 1st from 5-7 pm and support local artists and a local nonprofit all at the same time.
“Cinema Beyond the Screen” celebrates local artists. The exhibit highlights the magic of cinema, and the inspiration we are left with long after we’ve seen a film in a theatre. The idea behind this exhibit was to leave it in the hands of the artists - the only paramenters set were for them to reflect the cinematic experience through their unique style of art. During the duration of this exhibit, we hope guests consider purchasing their favorite cinematic piece, which not only supports a/perture, but local artists as well. We want to play our role in uplifting the local arts community by showcasing a diverse group of artists and mediums.
