311 Gallery: "Something for Everyone [Squared]" Exhibition
Last weekend was an art trifecta: an art exhibition opening, an artist reception, and an art market all at the same time.
This perfect colliding of events was courtesy of 311 Gallery in downtown Raleigh and their new exhibition “Something for Everyone [Squared].” I’m honored to have my latest piece “White Winter Hymnal” accepted into this juried exhibition, on display from Dec 2nd-30th in downtown Raleigh.
311 Gallery’s annual holiday visual art exhibition aims to provide a little something for everyone during the holiday shopping season. This year, they’ve put a twist on the exhibition with a “square” theme. It’s always fun and fascinating to see how artists creatively interpret a theme, and this show was no exception. I loved how artists all across the country interpreted this fun, open-ended square theme.
I personally loved creating this piece with this particular show in mind. I love to incorporate elements of graphic design into my work, so a hand-painted square framing around my landscape felt all too appropriate. Working within limitations like this can often inspires greater creativity, and thanks to this themed exhibition, I’m inspired to create a new series with a similarly minimal color palette and hand-painted frame and linear elements in 2023. Make sure to subscribe to the newsletter to be the first notified of this new series.
At the same date, time, and place as the exhibition’s opening and artist reception, I had a chance to setup my booth as an artist vendor inside of 311 Gallery’s beautiful space.
Between 311 Gallery’s trifecta of art events and downtown Raleigh’s First Friday celebration, this weekend was an absolute blast! Thank you to everyone who came out and shopped for all kinds of art gifts.
It makes me all the more excited for this upcoming weekend’s events! Check out the Events calendar on my website to see all of this season’s events! I can’t wait to see you soon!
