The Arts at Sutherland | Wake Forest, NC
This had to be the most beautiful venue for an art fair yet!
Setting up my art fair tent at The Arts at Sutherland this weekend felt like setting up in a fairytale land. The perfectly manicured gardens, the brick archways, the rose bushes, the flickering lanterns, and the beautiful historic Sutherland Estate made for the most magical backdrop for an art fair.
It was enough to just spend a weekend in this beautiful space, so seeing all of the people from Wake Forest and Raleigh come out to view and buy art was just the cherry on top.
I’ll be honest: I needed this beautifully redemptive experience. The last art fair I attended - or, more accurately, tried to attend - was a whirlwind of chaos for us (but at no fault to the art fair itself!). Not only did it torrentially storm and flood the entire time, but both my husband and I got terribly sick and had to pack up early. I left feeling absolutely crestfallen, with my confidence shaken.
This weekend felt like the win I so terribly needed. Thank you all for not letting a little storm warning deter you. It ended up being a beautiful weekend full of art, fun conversations, and wonderful connections. Even when it stormed for just one hour, you all came out with umbrellas in hand, ready to keep on art shopping.
My cup feels full, my confidence restored, and my spirit reenergized. I hope you all feel similarly replenished as this summer winds down.
I hope to see you all again soon at one of this fall’s art fairs. Check out my Events calendar to see where I’ll be set up next.
