Reflecting on the Sayso & Friends Winter Market 2021

Artists often work in solitude.

My painting days are typically set to the soundtrack of my favorite podcast or music playlist and the sound of my dog’s snores. As an introvert, I often prefer it this way.

But sometimes, it’s challenging to remind oneself of the value of your own work when you work in isolation. With no one there to commend your efforts, applaud your work ethic, or even offer constructive criticism, it’s easy to wonder if you’re ever truly doing enough.

Events like this one at the Sayso & Friends Winter Market help ground me. Interacting with real people in real time, talking about art and what it means to them, feeds my soul in ways I didn’t realize I needed.

Thank you to everyone who came out this Saturday to support local artists and makers. And thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who has supported my small business this holiday season. Your love and support are the best gifts I could ever ask for this holiday.
