Of all the weekends in the year, I cannot imagine a more perfect one to be in the Shenandoah Valley than last weekend at the Virginia Fall Foliage Art Show. It was everything that makes Fall in the mountains absolutely magic. Within that sublime setting we set up for the Virginia Fall Foliage Art Show.

Autumn in Appalachia. For a few weeks a year, the Blue Ridge Mountains are draped in a rainbow blanket of leaves. It’s my favorite time of year to be in my favorite mountains. So, naturally, it’s one of the most inspiring times to paint.
